A complete SQL database with multiple tables, indices, triggers, and views, is contained in a single disk file. PostgreSQL is the way to go for high customizability and specific database requirements, and SQLite is the best option for an application with low DB storage needs or a website with low traffic. SQLite reads and writes directly to ordinary disk files. SQLite locks the entire database when it needs a lock (either read or write) and only one writer can hold a write. MySQL with its great feature set, community support, and easy setup, is the best allrounder for most web-based applications.

However, SQLite only supports a single writer at a time (meaning the execution of an individual transaction).

SQLite is generally a lot faster than SQL Server. Of course this webserver should be accessible from your workstation and you should be able to upload files there. This very unusual ability makes certain actions significantly easier. For this purpose, you need to have a webserver running on a computer that stores the database file. SQLite engine does not support network connections, however PostgreSQL Data Sync allows you to manage remote SQLite databases using the HTTP tunneling technique. SQLite is much simpler to use and is ideal for small projects, but it’s not as feature-rich or scalable as Postgres. Once youre ready to deploy Backstage in production, or to have a more persistent development setup, you can switch the Backstage database to PostgreSQL.
POSTGRESQL VS SQL LITE SOFTWARE
Unfortunately, our software cannot connect to databases encrypted by any other library because different SQLite security extensions use different algorithms, which are not compatible with each other. Postgres is more feature-rich and scalable, but it’s also more complex to use and requires more time and effort to set up and maintain. This means it can operate only with encrypted databases created by itself or by any other tool that uses the same library. To read and write encrypted databases, PostgreSQL Data Sync uses the free wxSQLite3 library that is included into the installation package. This very important factor determines how efficiently your chosen DBMS can scale to meet your requirements. To learn more, read our detailed Open Source Databases Report (Updated: June 2023). POSTGRESQL VS SQL LITE PASSWORD
C:\Data\SQLite\MyDatabase.db3) and a password (only for encrypted databases). MS SQL Server: Application Related Factors Scalability. June 2023 Executive Summary We performed a comparison between PostgreSQL and SQLite based on real PeerSpot user reviews. Mongo gives you no schema which is not always good. For your requirement, I prefer Postgres (or MySQL) over MongoDB.
POSTGRESQL VS SQL LITE FULL
To connect to such database, you should provide only a full database file name (e.g. Postgres and MySQL are very similar, but Mongo has differences in terms of storage type and the CAP theorem. As SQLite is implemented as an embedded database engine contained in a single DLL, SQLite databases usually are stored locally or in the shared folders.
